This tea turned out super mild. I taste an intermingling of ginger and mint, but it’s not spicy. I don’t taste the white base at all. I would have guessed that it’s an herbal tea, in fact. It’s just a little too basic and mild to have again. Thanks for sharing tea-and-cats!

Found a teabag of this in my collection, and decided to bring it to work to add to the sip down pile there. Tried it yesterday, and it definitely does not taste like a white tea. Tastes like a pretty generic peppermint herbal tea. While it was fine, I have plenty of other peppermint teas in the collection that are much better.

A bag from ashmanra, THANK YOU again.
Finally, tried all the teas from her. And only 3 months till Christmas. First snow to appear on “mountains” here this weekend.

White tea, peppermint and ginger sounds like an interesting combo and well it was delivered. It was nice and mellow, peppermint was quite smooth and certainly not overpowering, the base was probably very nice as well. I haven’t noticed much of ginger honestly, but it was noticeable it wasn’t just white and peppermint. It maybe reminded me bit of wintergreen; it was nice and smooth.

Missing the spiciness a bit, what I would expected for winter teas, but it was nice. Thank you for new tea bag into collection as well.

You have snow already? We usually don’t get it until November, which is fine by me.

Martin Bednář

It should arrive in the weekend :)

Leafhopper

Yikes! It’s still 24C here in Ontario. I guess you’ll need all those winter-themed teas! :)

White Antlers

Oooh! I am so jealous, Martin! When I lived on the West coast, I missed snow so badly. My first winter back home was very white and very cold, but last year we had what amounted to white dust a few times. My fingers are crossed for heaps and drifts of snow this winter! Stay warm and safe and enjoy your ‘winter’ teas. : )

ashmanra

That is my eldest daughter’s favorite tea! I am glad it you enjoyed it.

We rarely get snow. It was 78F here today or 25.5C. I can’t believe you will be seeing it so soon! Enjoy and have a hot cuppa!

Martin Bednář

It is almost too early for me as well, but I am used to :) Well I guess I still miss Finland I have been to 4 years ago from late August till Christmas! There first snow appeared in this time and although it didn’t stayed, it was quite cold all the time.

Holiday Tea-son! This was a teabag I found in the Discovery Teabox, so thanks to Skysamurai for organizing and all participants of the box! I haven’t tried this before and it fits my holiday tea theme, and though I usually switch to herbals in the evening, white tea is pretty light on the caffeine and it hasn’t gotten too late yet so hopefully this should be okay. I’ll definitely switch to an herbal pot right after this cuppa!

The brewed tea looks and smells like a cup of peppermint herbal tea, which I suppose isn’t so bad considering this includes ginger root, since a lot of bagged teas tend to way over due it with the ginger (and tend to have a somewhat nasty sort of ginger taste, too… at least, many of the bagged grocery store variety citrus/ginger teas I’ve tried have had that problem). The aroma actually has a sweet minty scent, and I wouldn’t even suspect there is ginger in this tea.

Honestly, I don’t notice much difference in this from drinking a peppermint tea, other than it tastes a little sweeter, which I am going to assume must be some mild floral aspect from the white tea, since there is no indication any flavors have been added to this tea. I do appreciate that the mint isn’t quite so strong as many mint herbals are, it comes off a bit softer and sweeter, but otherwise it’s just a mint tea. And I am appreciative that the ginger is no where to be found in the flavor. The mint/ginger combo, however, would make a nice tummy tonic, so maybe that is why it is included?

Very nice aroma and minty flavor. I don’t know that I detect any of the other spices distinctly, but it’s not just straight mint so there must be something else lurking there. It’s nice, used to be a favorite. One trouble is it must be drunk quite hot to taste good. My mug has gotten a bit toward lukewarm and it’s much less pleasant.

Finishing off my misc. tea bags and this is on e that has been sitting around for years. The tea base is pretty good, but mild. I don’t taste any ginger but lots of peppermint. I would have thought it was only peppermint and a generic green tea. Not bad, and better with a splash of soy milk.

I gave this to my Mother for Christmas. We sampled it together. It tasted very strongly of peppermint, I did not taste any of the ginger. It had a light white tea flavour. Honestly mostly the flavour was peppermint. I would drink it again as I prefer it over straight peppermint tea (a favourite of my Mother), but I would not buy it for myself.

Hmmm, a Stash tea I have never tried. Back a little more than half dozen years ago, Stash was as close to high quality tea as was available locally. Goes to show there really has been some progress around my little town.

This is a bagged tea. It is predominantly peppermint in taste. Maybe I catch a hint of the ginger or probably I just think I do because I know it is in there. Kind of the same with the white tea base – except I actually do taste tea, just not well enough to say it is a white tea. Nothing amazing but pleasant enough. Thank you Ashmanra for the retro cuppa.

Non tea stuff – my 85 year old dad had a knee replacement Tuesday before Christmas. Surgery went well. His knee looks good considering, but his leg looks scary. I didn’t want him to do this during the holiday as doctors and the regular crew are hard to locate. When we do corner them, they aren’t saying much. I think he has a major infection. It doesn’t seem to be in the incision at this point but below his knee to his ankle is really concerning.

Nicole

That’s a scary situation. Hope you can get some answers soon and things are okay.

ashmanra

Oh dear! Adding your dad to our prayer list for sure! Keep us updated!

Oh no :(. Get that checked out asap

I’m with ash, added him in.

I had this tea on Christmas, and haven’t been on my computer since. It was rather disappointing after trying Stash’s Merry Mint and Christmas Eve. Both of those had very unique flavors. This tastes like peppermint. There may be a hint of white tea in there, but I didn’t taste the ginger at all. Now, I love peppermint tea – I drink it pretty much every day, but I wish this tasted just a bit more special.
