Received this from EmilyGee to try, thanks Emily!
It smells more chocolate/orange dry than it does when brewed. I don’t sense the orange anywhere except maybe a slight hint of citrus right at the end. But it’s ever so faint, I miight even just be willing my tastebuds to notice it.
The chocolate is there, but in a very earthy sense as opposed to the sweet commercial sense. Or it could just be that I’m not familiar with pu-erh tea and the earthiness is from that.
I don’t think it’s orangy enough for my liking, so I doubt I’d buy it in future.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate, Earth

I think I over did it with the steeping. I know the water wasn’t overly hot, as I was tending to the munchkin and trying to get him to sleep after the water finished boiling. I steeped for just over three minutes and I’m thinking that was too long. It should have been 2mins I think. It has a hint of bitterness to it.
But it has the floral and a slight bit of cherry flavouring to it. I’m not a huge fan of it, but I’m glad that I got to try it. Personally I don’t fully understand why this tea is so big, but a lot of people love it, so to each their own I guess.
The fruity and refreshing aroma of this blend initially drew me in and the sales associate reminded me that they don’t have a whole lot left, and they won’t be getting more, so I snapped up enough to make a cold brew with so I can make my decision as to whether I want to get more.
The main notes I am picking up on are pineapple and strawberry. I’m not really getting the lemongrass. Just a smidgen, and then there’s this cool, crisp note in the background. Perhaps it’s the prickly pear flavouring. It reminds me of cucumber in a way.
It’s good but I’m not sure if it’s worth clamouring for more before it’s gone.
This is very… “earthy”. And peppery. And wee bit metallic. I don’t really have much to say, I feel like I’m having a completely different tea from the other reviews. No sweetness that’s for sure. It’s not unpleasant, but I’ve had other black teas I like a lot more, so I doubt I’d restock this.
Is the slightly metallic taste an interpretation of astringency?
Drank this today because I am feeling pretty crappy – sick with a bad cold. This really cleared my sinuses which I liked and I was actually impressed with how nice it tasted.
Flavors: Ginger, Peppercorn

I remember having a small 5g sample of this when I was first getting into green tea about 2 years ago. I remember liking it, and seeing as how this is DAVID’s cheapest green tea (besides genmaicha) I thought I would give it a shot.
On my first sip I honestly thought I was drinking hot water. Once the water cooled down a bit I could taste a slight grassy/seaweedy taste, but it was barely there. The thing is, I don’t think I underleafed or under steeped it; I actually used 1.25tsp for my timolino (the package says 3/4tsp per 240ml) and I’m not 100% sure how many minutes it steeped, but at least the minimum 2-3 min) . I’ll try making this tea again with more leaves to see if that strengthens it up but otherwise I won’t be repurchasing. It’s not a bad tasting tea, it’s just that there’s barely any taste to it!
UPDATE: later on in the day I brewed the tea with at least 2tsp per timolino, and it did taste somewhat better, but still seaweedy and nothing special. I shouldn’t have to add that much green tea to my timolino for it to taste as good as a generic green tea bag.

I had an old sample of this tea kicking around, so I thought I’d try it. I don’t know if somehow the tea went bad (in its little sealed aluminum pouch), but the first few sips tasted like blueberries that had gone off. I couldn’t drink any more than that.
Flavors: Blueberry, Sour
When I first started shopping at David’s Tea, there were a few teas that I vowed I would never try; movie night was one of those.
I ended up with a small sample of it the after buying a boxed set of the Sweetheart Collection and I have to say it’s not as bad as I feared. It’s quite buttery and predominant flavours seems to be apple and caramel, but it’s not overpoweringly sweet. Like popcorn, it’s rather unoffensive and you can just keep drinking it without really caring one way or the other. I certainly wouldn’t pick it out if I was given other options, but the cup I had was fine. I’ve still got enough left for one more cup, which I’m sure I’ll enjoy when the mood strikes.

From the Herbal TTB!
Oh, hibiscus. You always seem to appear when I least expect it nowadays. I must not have been paying attention when I parceled out my cup. I was interested by the nuts and the name and the mystery… but when I poured out the tea, I saw the rich maroon red ooze out of the teapot and I visibly cringed. But! I steeled myself and proudly brought it to work.
It did not taste as bad as I had previously thought. Yes, the tart, syrupy hibiscus still drowned out most anything in the blend, but there was a nice cinnamon-y spice in there. It was like I was sipping on the inside of a Michaels’ craft store. I did drink the whole cup, albeit iced. There was much improvement there.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Tart
I was so excited when I first saw this. I actually waited through it going out of stock twice so I could order it. And … I sort of forgot that I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin flavored things. I always do this – fall comes, there’s pumpkin everything, and I buy it thinking it will be delicious.
This isn’t a bad tea. The scent of the dry leaf is kind of musty and harsh to me. Brewed and with some creamer added, it’s vaguely pumpkin and smooth. A decent, zone-out-and-drink-me tea.
On a whim, I got a cup of this while picking up some of my stand-bys. It smelt very… peppery? I had my friend sniff it and they agreed, it smelt strangely of green pepper. Fortunately I didn’t get much of that in the taste, instead it came across as a bit malty, smokey, and a little sweet. It really didn’t taste like any green tea I’ve ever had before. Initially I didn’t care for it, but as it cooled a little bit, it started growing on me, and I really can’t peg what it is that I was liking about it.
It feels pretty complex compared to other teas I’ve drank, and, as a result, hard to describe. I’d definitely like to pick up a proper sample down the road though.
Initially very excited to try this tea; it smelled wonderful and had a decent review.
First impression was orange, but there was something else I couldn’t quite place. Further into the cup I realized it tasted exactly like the smell of The Body Shop’s mango products. Very mango-y, but artificially so. Just couldn’t get over the fact that it felt like I was drinking body wash. Happy to say I don’t have any of this left.
Preparation
I keep trying this tea, hoping to have a salted caramel experience, and find it to be only a decent black tea. I want to taste more buttery, more sweet, and especially more salt— even when I am careful about how I spoon out the mixture, I get only a hint of salt. I have trouble tasting caramel in David’s Caramel Rooibos as well, which seems to contain the same little “caramel” cubes.
Anyone care to recommend a favorite salted caramel tea or tisane?
