From Butiki Teas

What better way to wind down the day than with chocolate and mint? Our Peppermint Patty pairs organic marshmallow leaf, a naturally sweet caffeine-free herb, with sweet organic peppermint, and mellow milk chocolate. This light and refreshing herbal works well as an after dinner treat. With each sip, the flavor grows stronger and lingers longer. Add a little sugar to intensify the chocolate flavor. Please research all precautions before consuming any herbal tisane.

I thought I had rated this before? I love peppermint patties and I love this tea.

I sometimes put peppermint patty candy in the freezer. Usually, I forget about about them, then when I find them – woohoo! Such a great surprise. Back to this tea – It is super minty, and creamy cool, with smooth milk chocolate. I love it, piping hot, at night. I could drink this every night, it is everything I could want in a night time tea. I will have to reorder a big stock of this before the butiki shop shuts down

Weird. I did a tasting note and it’s gone. Oh well. Ok. this is the worst tea I’ve had. I did actually pour this one out. It smelled and tasted like melted crayons. (Childhood experience- don’t ask me how I know what melted crayon taste like. Lol) I tried rock sugar. I tried honey. I couldn’t get past the melted wax I’m assuming that was coming from the chocolate in it. Not a fan at all. I actually had to run hot water in my Breville to get the smell out.

You know.. I have to be in the mood for peppermint teas, but when I am.. they are so refreshing! This one is nice and I reach for this more often than I thought I would. The peppermint is tamed by the chocolate and marshmallow leaf, but is still very much the star of the cup. I’m glad that it doesn’t remind me of toothpaste or gum. The flavor is smooth and natural. The marshmallow leaf adds that savory, more herbal layer. I don’t pick up on too much chocolate, but it does come out towards the end. Overall, a refreshing, but sweet treat to have in the evening.

Oops, forgetting about backlog. I had this the other night and it’s a pretty average chocolate mint tea. The first steep was very minty, the second steep the chocolate was more dominant.

Oh yum! I only got a tiny pouch of this, but rest assured I will definitely buy more at some point. It’s minty, it’s chocolatey, it’s just like a peppermint patty!
I’ve had similar herbals that I always wished were more like this one, but always fell short in one way or another. Usually with the addition of artificial ingredients or some other unnecessary additive. or coconut.
I digress. If I had more in my cupboard at the moment this might just become a nighttime ritual for awhile. Sighs. One day! :D

Good News: My son loves it hot or iced and I adore the second steep where I don’t normally taste the chocolate just fluffy marshmallow and sweet mint, yum.

I don’t know what is wrong with me but I don’t generally like chocolate flavored tea. I thought this one would be different for me but it’s not. I am happy I found away to enjoy it.

When I ordered this, I wasn’t really thinking about the summer heat and when I opened the bag, I was super bummed because the chocolate chips had melted and I was pretty much left with lumps of leaf glued around globs of chocolate. Boo.

Taste wise, this is much smoother than I expected. I almost wish the mint was bolder. It’s a very soft tea and although it is quite enjoyable, I can’t quite see myself craving it.

Oh no, sorry.

You have nothing to be sorry about :) It’s my own lack of common sense really :P

Headache so why not have the peppermint sample from Butiki? I probably didn’t use enough leaves in my small infuser for this one, as the flavor was good yet muted. There are so many peppermint leaves here that I thought there would be more peppermint (maybe my headache just needed more). There was also three types of chocolatey goodness in this blend but I really only tasted a hint of chocolate on one sip. I know what the marshmallow leaf should taste like and I wasn’t really tasting that either. Just a really yellow colored cup of mild peppermint. The second cup definitely was sweeter somehow, the marshmallow was to the forefront. I guess more leaves/ a longer steep time would really work better for this one. Next time I will use what is left of my sample that is probably closer to two teaspoons and see what happens. Maybe I was imagining this one at magical Butiki levels of awesome. I needed to try it though!
Steep #1 // couple minutes after boiling // 5 min
Steep #2 // just boiled // 10 min

I begin to realize how much I love this as I am reaching the end of my 4oz pouch. It’s always the perfect tea for any situation. Delicious and perfect for right before bed. I feel only slightly guilty for drinking melted chocolate chips after brushing my teeth.

I do feel like there are too many chocolate chips. I’m not sure how much they contribute to the flavor.

This is really good! Received this as a sample in my order and I have to say I enjoyed this. I thought the peppermint would be the dominant flavor but nope that would be the creamy delicious chocolate. So good
