1805 Tasting Notes
I’m quite a bit behind on some of my advent reviews. The last week before Christmas was wild, as expected when working retail. I’m so sad all of my advents are now finished. I particularly loved opening the one Inkling put together for me (thank you so much!). So much warmth and kindness went into the assortment, I so appreciated it. This was one of my favorites of the bunch. So rich, so robust. The combination of pu’erh and deep, dark chocolate was divine. I will absolutely be repurchasing this one.
Made this as an eggnog latte and it’s super tasty! Definitely an appropriately festive flavor for the week of Christmas.
How do you make your eggnog lattes? Would you share your quick tips for those of use who haven’t tried one before, please? Let’s be honest, that’s probably just me.
Absolutely! The easiest way for me is to make 8oz of tea super concentrated, and then just pour 8oz of hot (or hot and frothed) eggnog over it. Super easy!
Advent day 22! I was dubious when I saw this one. Chocolate teas are very hit or miss, but this one absolutely knocks it out of the park. It has sweet, caramel notes and just a bit of chocolate. It’s not chalky or synthetic tasting like so many chocolate teas tend to be. Really tasty and smooth.
I’ve been wanting to try this tea for awhile, but it always seemed to be sold out. I placed an August Uncommon order for a Christmas present, and this was back in stock. Of course I had to grab a sample bag for myself to try. This has a rich, dark, molasses flavor, and no trace of rooibos for me. It’s has a very distinct squash flavor, but isn’t starchy. I definitely would’ve loved to sip on this mid-October.
On a recent trip to Georgia, we stopped at a farm that sold turnovers and pies. Blackberry has always been one of my favorite flavors, so we opted for a blackberry turnover. It was more like a donut stuffed with fresh blackberry compote, and was served with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely decadent and wonderful. This tastes just like that! It has a jammy blackberry flavor, with a bit of cinnamon. The pastry note is distinct as well. I absolutely loved this tea.
