Last night all I wanted to do was curl up with my book (The Tenant of Wildfell Hall), my blanket and my cat. I made myself a cup of Honey Vanilla Chamomile because I didn’t want to pay close attention to preparing my tea. Is that bad? Anyway, it was a decent herbal tea. It was sweet and comforting, and it smelled lovely. Between my tea, my book (which is really, really good) and my cat curled up next to me it was a nice relaxing evening.

This is one of those days when I’m feeling blah (sinus infection), and I want something soothing but simple. The Honey Vanilla Chamomile is perfect. It’s warm, comforting, and is an herbal, so hopefully I can be in bed a sleeping sooner rather than later.

As much as I love autumn (and I do) I hate what it does to my respiratory system!

Another tea from a family member’s stash: This was quite a surprise! I don’t particularly love chamomile or vanilla, but this combination sounded interesting. It was sweet (as you might expect), and I liked it more than I like chamomile tea or blacks flavored with vanilla. It makes me want to try their sleepytime tea with vanilla. Good tea!

One of my favorite bagged teas. I discovered this when I took off on a train from Nebraska to Arizona and stayed at a friend’s house on arrival. He happened to have this in the cabinet and offered me some. I was pretty hooked on this sweet concoction. Especially it being the only tea I’d had in quite a while after selling my loose leaf tea collection. But here a year later it still has a home next to my loose leaf teas.

Bags smell of mostly licorice. Once submerged in hot water the aromas unfold. First nutty vanilla, followed closely by honey, citrus, and lastly the base note of chamomile.

I take a sip and am surprised by how naturally sweet this is. All of the different scents have morphed into a candy like drink with a light aftertaste of bubblegum. But once a bit of sugar is added it transforms into orange blossom honey water. I love orange blossom honey. This is nice for a bagged tea! A splash of milk and it tastes like warm milk & honey minus quite a bit of the sweetness. I don’t like to leave the bag in for an excessive amount of time like some have said because I start to taste a bitterness and the chamomile starts to show itself in an unpleasant way. I enjoy this tea when I’m waking up, about to go to bed, or during peaceful moments of the day.

Uh I like this bagged tea. Don’t ask why or anything but I do. It is a nice throw it in the cup when you don’t want to work at it vanilla honey tea that is warm and yum. So there. AND it comes from down the road right here in Colorado…ha!

When you’re lazy and cranky, bagged tea is an excellent choice. And this one isn’t too bad. I picked up a Celestial Seasonings herbal tea sampler at the grocery (good default bagged tea company) and I went with this one rather than their normal chamomile.

The bag (leaves, I guess?) smell sweet itself, almost like candy. It’s fun. I can sense it a little in the tea itself, and I do taste a hint of honey. Apparently there’s vanilla in there, too? Sure, I’ll take it. Hey, it’s soothing and goes down easy. I have no complaints.

Oh, hello, lover. I think I’ve found you.

It’s nutty and gently honey-sweet, with definite notes of vanilla and chamomile. You can note all the distinct flavors, but they are blended in such a way that they work together perfectly. It’s simply beautiful.

I think I’ve found it. That perfect chamomile for me. And it’s been sitting right there at Meijer this whole time. sigh Yup, this could be love.

A pretty sweet tea that’s fairly calming. A lot of the favors don’t taste very authentic, though. I can’t really pick out either the honey or the vanilla. It all seems to blend together. Nice and easy to drink, especially at night, but I can’t see myself buying boxes of this and toting it around to my friends.

Smelled great, not much taste. Disappointed and unimpressed. I really want to find a chamomile tea that I like. This was part of a sampler box so not added to cupboard or shopping list. I bag left.

I like this but in comparison to other honey chamomiles, this isn’t very impressive. Not bad for a bagged tea, I suppose.

This is one of my Mom’s fave teas. When I first tried it with real honey as a sweetener, I thought it had a strange artificial-sweetener-like aftertaste. But a couple of nights ago I had it with brown sugar and steeped in a larger-than-usual type mug. Wow. What a difference! Much nicer than CS’s regular chamomile.

A Co-Worker brought this in to try and fetched me a cup of hot water and i set it to steeping, I forgot about it for a while(10 minutes or so) and when i got around to adding in a little honey, it was a very tasty tea, i liked how strong and tasty it was.

It tasted slightly yeasty, with hints of licorice, and was very nice even when it cooled off, I bet it would be very tasty as an iced tea.

Wish I had something besides this to soothe sore throat, but it feels good, at least.

Not a bad chamomile. It smells good both before and after steeping. I like chamomile, so I’m naturally predisposed to liking this. Most of the flavor I got was of chamomile, my palate must be too untested to pick up other flavors very easily. Or, they really aren’t very pronounced. I think I like the second interpretation better.

OK, so the flavors aren’t very pronounced. I think there is a definite sweet lingering effect after a drink, which could be good or bad, depending on how long you like your tea to stay with you.

The bottom line for me is that I’ll finish the box, it isn’t bad, but I think I prefer a plain jane chamomile. One that has no pretensions to be anything other than its gloriously florally-herbally self.

I’m on my last cup of this tea. I have this weird tendency to drink the teas I like least first, even though I have teas I like better. I think it is because even though I know better, that I don’t have to drink them, they are in my cupboard taking up room and making me feel guilty for wanting something else. And it isn’t like I really despise the ones I don’t like, I just have other preferences. So I drink the ones I like less first so they are gone faster.

This tea has been in the “like less drink first” category, along with a plain old CS Chamomile, so they have been my most consistent nightly beverages of choice. And I won’t particularly miss this one. It might be because the tea may be a bit old, but I never really tasted honey or vanilla. I got lots of chamomile, but none of the other flavors. So I’ll bid a rather uninterested adieu to this one, glad to have one fewer box in the tea cupboard.

Backlogging from last night. This is rapidly becoming my go-to after dinner drink. At least until I run out, at which point I’ll switch over to the CS Chamomile, since I have some of that. After I finish that, I’ll be on the hunt for a good digestif. Any ideas?

Celestial Seasonings is a brand that I am never exactly wowed by, but it’s also hard to be disappointed by a bagged tea that you bought for three bucks at a supermarket chain. You know exactly what you’re getting into.

In this case, I would call it pretty enjoyably over all. Heavy on the chamomile and very sweet, but also incredibly soothing on a sore throat or a stressed mind. It’s a good evening tea to unwind with when you don’t want to break the budget.

I’m not big on chamomile at all. but I tried this thinking that it would help me on my journey to become closer to liking Chamomile. The sweetness of H.V. Chamomile did add more flavor and did appeal to my taste buds and help with that grassy taste at the end of the first chamomile i had tasted in the past of tasting regular chamomile. yes i did buy the herbal tea sampler also. Over all I think this is good for night tea for relaxing.
side notes
yes this is a bag tea but i think i don’t mind it this way actually. I didn’t use any sugar or milk when tasting this but usually don’t add any so i don’t even think about saying this part but reading others tasting blogs. I will add this to make it more complete

Usually I don’t like going out and buying teas without first checking Steepster to see what’s been said about them (although I always get a little excited when I find teas that haven’t even been added to the database yet), but I decided to just go for it and got this one. I wanted a herbal, but I also wanted a vanilla. And they had vanilla rooibos’, and vanilla white teas, and other chamomiles, and then a lady came by and slapped a half-off price on this one. I figured it was a sign.

The flavour’s very light, and mostly chamomile, but there’s a sweetness of slightly-artificial-tasting honey in there. The vanilla is more in the smell, although I didn’t really drink it with a Steepster Review in mind, so I suppose I wasn’t really paying attention or searching for it in the taste. I remember smelling it though, and picking up a good vanilla and strong honey, and thinking “I bet this would be wonderful iced”.

After drinking it, the flavour’s probably too light for that, and if you made it double-strength, the chamomile would just overwhelm the honey (and supposed vanilla).

It didn’t make me sleepy, but that may just be because I’ve already felt tired most of the day. Didn’t get much sleep last night. I downed two cups of Murchie’s Assam Pure, then passed out on the couch no more than three minutes later; I woke up about four hours later, finished my statistics homework, and stumbled off to college. Came home, bought this—I like it, but not enough that I think I’ll get it again when it’s done (honey and vanilla are a good IDEA, but they’re sort of muddled in this, and I don’t like it much with the chamomile; maybe I’ll try CS’s Honey Vanilla White Tea next, that looked promising!). I’m still on the lookout for my perfect vanilla caffeine free drink for bedtime (although caffeine doesn’t do all too good a job of keeping me up anyways, but). I actually went to IGA with the intention of picking up a vanilla rooibos, but came home with this instead. Hm.

Sweet, light, oddly fruity, honey taste, but vanilla’s only in the smell. Ended up leaving the teabag in there the whole time. I took it out after five minutes, but decided that the flavour was so light that I’d just leave it in.

Sipping this one again tonight and finding that it’s got a sort of sickly sweet aftertaste in the back of my throat. Otherwise I still like the tea, but the way the taste just sticks at the back of my throat is a little… ick. I don’t know if it’s the chamomile or the flavourings for the honey or vanilla.

A great balance of the flavors – not too sweet, not too vanilla-y… I love the sweet vanilla aroma. Whether it’s a stressful day or I’m just trying to recover from asthma issues, I’ve found this tea to be soothing and a perfect way to settle down

I dunno what the other guys are on about. This tea is freaking delicious with a little sugar. The honey / vanilla flavors do blend together, but the blend that they make is really unique, really calming and totally full-bodied. I probably won’t buy it again (I gotta stop!), but for the time being, I’m really going to enjoy it!

Except for chamomile the other 2 flavors are not very pronounced, but it is a nice chamomile blend nevertheless. I brewed the bag twice, second time around with some green tea added to the pot which made for a nice variation.

The first few whiffs brings a strong sweet vanilla scent; milky and creamy. As I steep the teabag for longer, the herbal chamomile blends in nicely with the vanilla. Steep longer for more of the chamomile goodness. I added honey to complement the sweet scent of vanilla.

I’m beginning to like this. It’s like drinking dessert but less the calories. Very calming too, thanks to the chamomile.
