1113 Tasting Notes
Wow I’ve been SO busy this weekend I didn’t have time to read OR write tasting notes until now! I taught my first block printing class on Saturday, AND hosted a baby shower…it was awesome but exhausting. I made this tea in a to-go mug for my Sunday afternoon errands. Still one of my fave black teas.
Already regretting only getting 1 oz of this. What was I thinking?!
Sigh. So good :) it’s like a gentle floral with a hint of cherry, which is perfect with the butter greeny Sencha.
i should probably get it. There was no sakura sample in my Den’s sampler;(
did you try apple sencha and grape sencha? i was thinking maybe its better to get pineapple and sakura only. your thoghts
I haven’t tried grape or apple yet. I’ll bust those open ASAP! :) I definitely recommend pineapple and Sakura though.

I will miss its sweet vegetal goodness. At least I got a bunch of sencha in the mail yesterday so I’ve got some greens around! Nothing quite like this one, though. It is similar to Laoshan Green but brighter and sweeter and with more of an asparagus/sweet corn flavor.

I made a hot latte out of this for breakfast. WOW. Super cheesecakey! This is officially my 2nd favorite matcha flavor from Red Leaf, right under coconut (#1!). I would definitely order this one again :)
i just got a sample in a mail. where do you store it after its opened?
I tape mine shut and stick them in the fridge. Supposed to keep it fresh longer!
I tried the rooibos base with this flavor and it was amazing! Can’t wait to try the matcha version!

That makes two of us Stephanie. I got a small supply of Genmaicha from Zen Tea today, I’m drinking it with a nice cod filet tonight, can’t wait, love it with any fish dish!
Awesome TheTeaFairy! It does sound really good with fish. I’m drinking my 2nd steep now, WOW this stuff is way more caffeinated than normal Genmaicha due to the matcha…tea buzz LOL ;)

Sad sip down. I would re-stock this one for sure but I will probably replace it in my cupboard with Hello Sweetie when that one becomes available!

Preparation
I am allowing myself to drink more of this one because I just ordered another sample pack with my Teavivre points (can’t afford a whole cake, much less have anywhere to store it! boo!) I also picked up some more jasmine peach pearls, and a sample of tangerine ripe puerh which is exciting!
I love the energy and wildness of this young sheng. Perfect pick me up for an EXTRA EARLY Monday morning. Not a big fan of daylight savings time, heh.
DST – I slept in til 9:00 this morning. My brain told me it would have been 8:00 last week. Either way that is about 4 hours more than normal. Retirement is great. I highly recommend it. Takes the suck right out of DST.

we couldnt get up. i hate daylight savings time. Russia stopped doing this couple yrs ago
I hate it too. Granted I don’t have a regular sleeping schedule but it sucks when you look at the time and feel like you’ve slept an extra hour, or are going to bed an hour later.
